Hi, I’m Andra. aenim is my creative practice.

I work with objects and spaces through image-making and creative direction.

I first became drawn to furniture and objects through my background in interior architecture and design, which is also how I eventually found my way into image-making. I usually connect to a piece not only for how it looks, but because of the story of how it came to be.

I’m interested in the person who made it, what they cared about, the problems they were trying to solve and the limitations they had to work with. It’s often the idiosyncrasies that emerge from that process that give an object its character and soul.

My work is about finding a visual language for those stories through space, light, materiality, atmosphere and composition. I want to bring people closer to the story behind an object, while leaving enough space for them to form their own connection to it.

My parallel work as a psychotherapist has shaped much of my interest in people, meaning and connection. aenim is where I bring together those different ways of thinking and lines of inquiry.
